BARTONVILLE – Edward Wayne White, 77 of Bartonville passed away at 6:18 p.m. Monday, May 16, 2016, at the UnityPoint Health-Methodist ER.
Ed was born on March 23, 1939, between Bowling Green and Louisiana, Missouri, at home to Reuben and Mary (Burroughs) White. He married Margaret Candler on December 21, 1991, at their home in Bartonville.
They never had any children but were blessed with a God-daughter, Terricka Kohtz and are raising their great-niece, Jamiya Johnson; along with other special nieces and nephews.
Ed is survived by one brother, Carl (Patsy) White; one sister, Julia Diggs and his canine companion, Sammy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and three sisters.
Ed served in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Hornet CVS-12. He loved watching the Cardinals, wrestling and boxing and he would never say no to Chinese food! He was a member of the Limestone American Legion Post 979.
Ed had a heart of gold; our days will be much longer and not as bright. But one day my love I will see your beautiful brown eyes again.
Graveside inurnment services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 21, 2016, at Smithville Cemetery, with military funeral honors. Cremation has been accorded by Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel.
