Lloyd Dean Klein, 82, passed away at the Kansas Veterans' Home of Winfield on May 17th, 2016. Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 25th at the United Methodist Church of Udall, Graveside services will follow at the Oxford cemetery. No Visitation is scheduled. Memorials in Lloyd's name may be made out to the Shriners Hospital for Children or the United Methodist Church of Udall and may be left in the care of the Shelley Family funeral home. Lloyd Dean Klein was born on May 3rd, 1934 in Winfield, KS to loving parents George and Mary (Schwemmer) Klein. After Lloyd graduated from high school he served in the United States Army from 1954-1956 and was stationed in Alaska. While in the service, Lloyd was united in marriage to Lodean (Lofton), after they were married they settled in the Udall/Oxford area, started a family and began his farming career. On November 5th, 1998 Lloyd was united in marriage to his wife Diana Lee (Werner). Lloyd was a farmer his whole life, he loved to work; he also loved to travel to warmer climates in the winter, visit friends and family, and he enjoyed square dancing in his younger years. He was a member of the Udall United Methodist Church, the Oxford Masonic Lodge 165, the Midian Shrine of Wichita, the Wichita Scottish Rite (32nd degree), the Winfield American Legion Post #10 as well as a driver for the Midian Shrine Hospital Van Unit. He also served on several bank boards, township boards and co-op boards. He is survived by: his wife, Diana Lee Klein of Winfield, KS; son, Jerry Klein; stepsons: Gage Werner and wife Sarah, Theodore Werner, Monica, and Leevi Werner and wife Joy. Grandchildren: Bradly and Rebecca Klein; great grandchildren: Hunter, Lila and Jace Klein, and 11 step grandchildren. Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, wife Lodean, sons Victor Klein and Kurt Klein, brothers: Herbert Klein, Lawrence Klein and sister Evelyn Hacker.
