Midge was a graduate of the Bennington High School Class of 1949.
She attended Boston University College of Physical Education for Women, Sargent College, in Cambridge, Mass. from 1949-1951 and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in the Social Sciences from Stetson University, DeLand, Fla. in 1953, where she was a Tri-Delt and active in inter-collegiate sports.
Midge married James Daugherty in 1954 and lived in Bennington before later moving to New York City and New Jersey. In 1964, she married the Reverend Stephen Greene in Bennington, Vt. and moved to Concord, N.H. in 1965. She was pre-deceased by her two ex-husbands and as she liked to say, "but not on my watch".
From 1969-1982, she worked in Social Services and Community Action Agencies as a counselor and Program Manager of special projects for disadvantaged youths and adults. From 1982-1994, she was employed by The Capitol Craftsman, a crafts and jewelry store in Concord.
Midge enjoyed the beach, arts, symphonies, jazz concerts, Cape Cod, long walks, tennis, skiing, dancing, reading and laughing. She was interested in politics, the environment, social injustice, women's issues and participated in many community organizations, served on the board of child and family services and was active in the Concord school district PTO's. She enjoyed traveling with friends and trips to Calif. to visit with her two sons and grandchildren, where she eventually moved to in 2013.
