Daughter of Basil Everett Hill and Auvena Shreve. Born May Ruth, no birth certificate was filed for her. The only record of her birth was her confirmation record and she adopted the name "Mary" from that. She used the name Mary nearly all her life. After leaving Wetzel County and living in Ohio for quite some time, Mary and her husband moved to South Florida where they lived for many, many years. Mary worked as a waitress and was well liked. About 20 years ago, she and one of her sisters returned to Wetzel Co., WV where she lived until her death. She died in the home once owned by her grandmother on North First Avenue.
Mary was cremated and her ashes interred at Mt. Zion.
Mary is survived by a son, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, three sisters, nieces and a nephew, great nieces and a great nephew and great, great nieces.
She was predeceased by her parents, an infant brother, husband and Uncles, Jim Shreve and Chet Shreve.
