Allan R. Abernathy, 73, a longtime resident of Rolling Meadows; was born January 10, 1942 to the late Allan S and Astrid nee Nelson Abernathy and passed away May 16, 2015. Allan was the beloved husband of Shirley J. nee Stettler; dear brother of Joyce A. Mackert; also survived by many best friends. Allan was a long time member of NMRA (National Model Railroad Association) and R&LHS (Railroad & Locomotive Historical Association). He was a loyal and devoted employee of Edgewater News Agency in Chicago for 60 years. Visitation Tuesday, May 26, 2015 from 4 PM until the time of the Memorial Service at 6 PM at Lauterburg & Oehler Funeral Home, 2000 E. Northwest Highway, Arlington Heights, IL 60004.
