Jane Ellen Arseneau Tragesser, 76, Kokomo, passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2016, at her home. She was born May 4, 1940, in Peru, to Harold W. and Mildred (Turner) Ennis. She married William C. Arseneau in 1958, and he preceded her in death on January 25, 2000. On February 4, 2005, she married Fredrick I. Tragesser, at St. Joan of Arc in Kokomo, and he survives.

She graduated from Peru High School in 1958 and later worked for the DOD School System, Kokomo Center Schools, Martin Marietta Corporation, St. Joseph Hospital, Dukes Memorial Hospital, and the Early Childhood Learning Center. She was an active member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church for many years and was a professed Secular Franciscan. She enjoyed playing cards with friends and traveling and was an avid reader.

In addition to her husband, Frederick, she is survived by her children, Michelle R. (Timothy) Mort, Ovilla, Texas, Catherine M. (Steven) Dezelan, Kokomo, and Mark S. (Johanna) Arseneau, Aurora, Illinois; step-daughter, Marcie F. Carleton, Greenwood; grandchildren, Jenifer Donahue, Ohio, Justin Mort, Ohio, Jessica Mort, Ohio, Lindsy Jenkins, Kokomo, Zachary Arseneau, Illinois, Zoe Arseneau, Illinois, and Zella Arseneau, Illinois; step-granddaughter, Holli Sumpter, Greenwood; great-grandchildren, Hannah, Riley, Sophi, Max, and Jocelyn; sister, Dollie M. Duling, Kokomo; godchild, Tressa Landa; godchildren, as well as nephews and nieces, Donald (Janice) Wray, Dennis (Diane) Wray, David (Sara) Wray, Derek (Rachel) Wray, and Debra Rahe; sisters-in-law, Annie Ennis, Florida, and Phyliss Beckner, Illinois; nieces and nephews, Karen (Chuck) Oldfather, Indiana, Donna (Keith) Zimmer, Indiana, Keith (Kim) Ennis, Indiana, and Krisan (Lonnie) Arthur, Illinois; all her Tragesser family, too numerous to mention; Lisa Arnold, her hugging buddy; and her and Fredrick’s dog, Jakob (you and dad enjoy each day).

She was preceded in death by her first husband; parents; twins, Mary and Joseph Arseneau; sisters, Patsy Berry and Betty Nolan; and brother, Donald Ennis.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 3155 S. 200 W., Kokomo, with Father Matt Arbuckle the celebrant. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday at Shirley and Stout Funeral Home, 1315 W. Lincoln, Rd., Kokomo, with a scripture service at 7:30 p.m.
