Frances G. Tira Carnahan, 84, of Leechburg died at 11:12 p.m. Tuesday (April 23, 2002) in Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights, Harrison.
Born Sept. 1, 1917, in Reading, she lived at her present address in Leechburg for the past 69 years.
Mrs. Carnahan was a member of Christ the King Roman Catholic Parish in Leechburg.
She enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with her grand- children.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Harry E. Carnahan; two sons, Harry E. (Mary Lou) Carnahan of Indiana, Pa., and John Leslie (Marcia) Carnahan of Canton, Ohio; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, John Tira of Payette, Idaho; three sisters, Lena Smith of Leechburg and Lucia Valenzano and Palmira Antonietti, both of Italy; and three stepsisters, Mrs. Josephine (Glen) Himes of Selma, Ind., Mrs. Elizabeth (Milo) McGown of Boise, Idaho, and Mrs. Rose (Robert) Ainsley of New Braunfels, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Delfino A. and Guiseppina Scienza Tira; four brothers, Nicola, Alessio, Joseph and Delfino Tira; and three sisters, Mary Maria Tira, Maria Goglio and Catherine Krafick.
Friends will be welcomed by her family from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at CLAWSON'S, Leechburg, where parting prayers of transfer will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday. Christian Funeral Mass will follow at 10 a.m. at Christ the King Parish, Leechburg.
Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell
