Russell Neil Simpson, 75, of DeKalb, Texas passed away February 27, 2016.

He is preceded in death by parents, Roy Neil Simpson, Missouri and Anita R. Pfannenstiel Colorado and grandparents, Paul and Froeda Junge, Lyons, Colorado. Also preceded in death by grandson, Tanner Michael, Colorado.

He is survived by two daughters: Shelly Piro, Colorado and Shonette Patterson, Nevada; grandchildren: Shane, Shea Ann, Brady, Nevada; great-grandchildren: Kahner and Madison, Nevada; wife: Glenda Quinn and stepsons, Charles, Joe, Troy and Robert of DeKalb, Texas.

Russell Simpson was born in Ft. Lupton, CO and grew up in the Denver area. He graduated from Manual High School in 1958. He was in the Marine Reserves until he joined the Air Force at Lackland AFB, Texas in the 1960’s. Russ received an Honorable Discharge due to medical reasons. Later on, Russ drove a semi-truck and traveled cross country. Once again, Russ met and loved another, her name is Glenda.

Russ was a kind and gentle man with a big heart who always had a big smile that lit up a room. He loved his family deeply and would do anything for anyone.

During his younger days, others would say he could be one of the most beautiful men in Hollywood. He was a ladies man with charm, looks and charisma; tall, dark and handsome. In high school performing in talent contests, Jailhouse Rock as Elvis who swooned the girls and caused mania.

Russ loved life and always pursued his dreams. He loved to travel, working on his ranch loving animals and he loved his family deeply.

We wish you happy trails… our cowboy hats are off to you!

A Celebration of Life will be held in the Colorado warm summer sunshine.

We recited Psalms 23 and lit your Horse candle. We wanted to honor your memory this way. *See pictures posted
