OBITUARY

---James Canada was born August 11, 1939 and grew to manhood on the old Canada farm in Illinois Bend entered by his father from the government in and early day.

---He enlisted in the Union army July 21, 1861, and served until the close of the war, returning to his home in 1865. Later he located at Yarrow where he resided at the time of his death, March 3, 1923.

---He leaves and aged sister, two nieces, one nephew and other relatives to mourn his death. He had been in failing health fore several years, but was confined to his bed early four weeks. Death came to him at the ripe old age of 84 years, 6 months and 18 days, His father died in 1844, when deceased was 5 years old. A brother, John L. Canada, died in 1884.

---"Uncle Jim," as he was familiarly known, had a host of friends, who sympathize with the bereaved family. Burial took place in the Canada cemetery.

He always shunned women, in fact, he does still,

He may marry yet, but I don't think he will.
