USAF Airman II Class - KIA in plane crash on an Alaskan glacier in route to Elmendorf Air Force Base during Korean War. Remains were recovered after 64 years.

Thomas Condon, Airman II Class, died in 1952 in a plane crash during the Korean War and his remains were recently recovered after 64 years. He was born on January 8, 1933 in Janesville the son of Harold and Mary (nee Barrett) Condon. Thomas was a 1951 graduate of Waukesha High School and following high school he entered the United States Air Force.

He is survived today by his brother William (Carmella) Condon of Waukesha, his sister Marian (Tom) Atkinson of Jefferson, his nephews Mark (Kelley) Condon of Colorado, John (Lisa) Condon of Colorado and Tom (Shawn) Atkinson of Richfield and great nieces and nephews, Megan, Robert, Barrett and Braelyn Condon of Colorado. Since his death in 1952, his parents and his sister Carol have passed away.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the 11:00 a.m. funeral Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 822 N. East Avenue, Waukesha. Father Javier Bustos will preside. Entombment with full military honors will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorials are appreciated to Catholic Memorial High School, 601 E. College Avenue, Waukesha, WI 53186 or to St. John the Baptist Catholic Grade School 333 East Church Street, Jefferson, WI 53549.
