"William Finley Thompson, a well-known and highly esteemed resident of Hollidaysburg, died this morning at 8 o'clock, at his residence on East Juniata street, of a complication of diseases, incident to his advanced years. The deceased was aged 76 years at the time of his demise. By occupation he was a contractor and carpenter, which business he was engaged in for many years. For the past several years he has lived a retired life. Mr. Thompson had filled the office of assessor the Fourth ward for seventeen years and had served in council. He was a veteran of the Civil war, a charter member of the Phoenix Fire company and the Improved Order of Heptasophs. In politics, he was a democrat.
