Carl David Yancey, Jr., 76, Shawnee, KS passed away Monday, May 23, 2016 at the Shawnee Mission Med. Ctr., Merriam, KS.
Carl was born Jan. 21, 1940 in Kansas City, MO to Carl David and Margaret Yancey. He was a 1958 graduate of Shawnee Mission High School. Following high school, Carl joined the United States Air Force. He retired in 2005 from Bob D. Campbell & Co, Inc. after 43 years of service.
Carl was a past Boy Scout and Cub Scout leader. He enjoyed woodworking and camping and fishing at Pomona Lake.
Survivors include his wife, Carolee Yancey; three sons, Scott A., (Lisa Marie) Yancey, Bonner Springs, KS, Patrick A. Yancey, Lenexa, KS and Bryan A. Yancey and fiancée, Tara Smiley, Ft. Scott, KS; daughter, Heather L. (John) Fleming, Shawnee, KS and six grandchildren, Carter and Caden Yancey, Samuel and Madigan Yancey, and Zane and Maura Fleming.
Memorial services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday May 31 at the Amos Family Funeral Home; inurnment in the Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation, 8900 State Line Rd #320, Leawood, KS 66206.
