Mrs. Peter W. (Amanda) Snell, 98 years old, of 1400 South Boulevard, died Saturday in The Lutheran Home, where she had resided 21 months. She was born Feb. 1, 1885, near Gordonville, but had resided here most of her adult life.
She married Albert C. Sander, who died in 1943. On Dec. 31, 1949, she married Mr. Snell.
Mrs. Snell was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church here.
Surviving are her husband; son, Albert C. Sander, Cape Girardeau; daughter, Mrs. Lester (Belma) Whitticre and Mrs. Erna Spalding, both of Cape Girardeau, and Mrs. J. D. (Dorothy) Mills, Union; stepson, Jerield Snell, Cape Girardeau; stepdaughters, Mrs. Beatrice Matlock, Fresno, CA, and Mrs. Rosina Grube, Danville, CA; 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren and six great-step-grandchildren.
The body is at the Brinkopf-Howell Funeral Home here, where friends may call after 5 p.m. today. Service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Carl Richardson, associate pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park. The body will be taken to the church at noon Tuesday.
