Harold "Fred" Osmun, 96, of Knowlton Township, NJ, passed away at his home in Knowlton, on May 23, 2016.
He was born March 29, 1920 in Columbia, NJ, a son of the late Harold and Ada (Allen) Osmun. His wife of 59 years, Roberta "Bert" (Van Horn) Osmun, passed away on September 28, 2003.
He farmed with his father up to his father's time of death, then with his brother Ralph, up to 1972 along with working for Ed Range. He also worked at Hoffman LaRoche in the boiler house until he retired in 1985. Upon retirement he worked with several neighbors doing landscaping work, etc. Until approximately 3 years ago he also worked for the Knowlton Twp. Recreation Dept. He was a member of the Hope Moravian Grange and Knowlton Fire/Rescue Squad.
He is survived by a daughter, Jean Schuster of Belvidere, NJ; a son, Ronald and wife, Merrilane, Knowlton Twp., NJ; two sisters, Jenny Housman, Warminister, PA; Marjorie Frace, Danielsville, PA; three grandchildren, Jan Woolf and husband, Richard; Christine Brooks and husband Michael; Jennifer Nuce and husband Neal; six great grandchildren, Jason, Richard, Emily, Hannah, Brendon and Jackson, plus nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Charles, Oliver, Ralph and a sister, Dorothy Schwartz.
Visitation will be held from 10AM - 12 PM, Saturday, May 28, 2016 at Newbaker Funeral Home, 200 Route 94, Blairstown, NJ. Funeral services at 12:00 PM. Interment will be at the Hope Moravian Cemetery, Hope, NJ.
