ELKHART, IN — Joseph Francis Booher Jr., 92, of Elkhart, died Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at Hubbard Hill Estates.

Joseph was born to Joseph Francis Booher Sr. and Florence M. (Gross) Booher on July 14, 1923, in Logansport.

Joseph married Marcelle E. Louchart on Sept. 8, 1984, in Elkhart. She preceded him in death Nov. 29, 2013. He is also preceded by a son, Ronald L. Booher, a brother and a sister.

Joseph is survived by granddaughters Kristen and Taylor Booher of Indianapolis, a sister, Joann Mucker of Logansport, and a niece Virginia Lough of Bristol.

Joseph served for 20 years as a member of the U.S. Army. He was a veteran of World War II, where he stationed in the European Theater, and the Korean Conflict. Joseph retired after 20 years at GTE.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of 1 p.m. service Saturday, May 28, at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home with the Rev. Jason Frieburger officiating. Burial will follow in St. Vincent Cemetery.
