Born March 27, 1932 in Richland County, she was the daughter of James Edward and Marie (Clever) Hurrell. She married Gerald W. Rinehart on June 4, 1950 and he preceded her on October 4, 1991.
She was a graduate of Lexington High School and attended Iberia United Methodist Church. Lois was a member of Daughters of Union Veterans and Fraternal Order of Eagles 859 Auxiliary. She enjoyed doing crafts, cross stitching and embroidering. Lois especially liked to make bookmarks and send them in birthday cards to veterans in the Ohio Veterans Home.
She is survived by children Jack (Pam) Rinehart of Findlay and Janice (Robert) Cass of Galion; seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; brother Harry Hurrell of Bellville and sister Norma (Robert) Woolensnider of Marion.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by son Joseph Rinehart and brother Donald Hurrell.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 26, 2016 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 27 with Pastor Matt Skelton officiating. Burial will follow at Shauck Cemetery in Johnsville.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio in care of the funeral home.
