Peter Garry, 85, Ex-Road Building Contractor, Dies
EVANSVILLE - Peter Garry, 85, Evansville, formerly a member of the firm of Drew and Garry, road building contractors here, until his retirement about 15 years ago, died today at his home. Born in 1876 in Magnolia township, south of here, he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Garry.
As a young man, Mr. Garry farmed in this area.
He was married in 1901 to Elizabeth Dooley of Magnolia township, the couple observed their golden wedding anniversary in 1951. She died in October, 1958.
Mr. Garry was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, Evansville, and its Holy Name Society.
His only survivors are nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Allen funeral home, Evansville, after 7 Thursday night, and the rosary will be recited there Thursday night at 8.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 9 a.m. in St. Paul's Church, with the Rev. James Kramer officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross cemetery here.
