Funeral services for Peggy Jean Harper, 80, of Tennessee Colony will be held at 11 am on Monday, May 30, 2016, at Tennessee Colony Church. Burial will follow at Tennessee Colony Cemetery under the direction of Herrington / Land of Memory Funeral Home.

Mrs. Harper passed away on Friday, May 27, 2016, at Cartmell Home for Aged.

Note: We are aware that her maiden name is misspelled on her headstone. The proper spelling is Whitecotton.

She was born August 13, 1935, in Cass County, Texas to J.J. Whitecotton and Nancy Ann Montgomery Whitecotton. She had lived in Tennessee Colony since 1979 and was longtime member of Tennessee Colony Baptist Church. Peggy had worked many years for Dr. Crawford. She enjoyed reading, watching T.V. westerns, and looking at the wildlife outdoors. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings; and a granddaughter, Brandy Wilson Ohrt.

She is survived by her husband, Drewy Harper; 1 son, Barry Brewer and wife Angie; 3 daughters, Karla Lang and husband Jerry, Susan Laney and husband Bobby, and Tamie Harrington and husband Kevin; 1 brother, Charlie Whitecotton and wife Dorothy; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Condolence calls will be received one hour prior to the service from 10-11 am Monday at the church.
