Funeral services for Glenn I Anderson, 89, of Aledo, who died Sunday at Moline Public Hospital, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Fippinger Funeral Home, Aledo. The Rev. James Carbaugh, pastor of College Avenue Presbyterian Church, Alexis will officiate, burial will be in the Alexis cemetery.
Visitation will be 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Mercer County Hospital, Aledo.
Mr Anderson was born March 16, 1894, in Alexis, a son of James and Carrie Bridger Anderson. He attended Alexis and New Windsor schools and graduated from the former William and Vashti College, Aledo.
He married Edythe Martin sept 8, 1915, in Swede Home, Neb. She died in 1979.
He farmed in Nebraska and western Illinois until retiring to Aledo in 1965. He was of Methodist faith.
Surviving are two sons, Russell "Andy" of Aledo and Dr Ralph L of Sacramento, Calif; two grandchildren and six great-grandaughters.
