William D. Trone, 76, of Spring Grove, PA, entered into God's eternal care, Friday, May 27, 2016 at his home with his loving family by his side.

Born June 13, 1939 in Hanover, PA, he was the son of the late Ralph and Estella (Rudisill) Trone. He was the husband of Barbara A. (Kopp) Trone with whom he would have celebrated 58 years of marriage in July.

William was a 1957 graduate of Eichelberger High School.
He retired from SKF after 35 years of service. Bill was the owner and operator of Bill's Sharpening Service for several years as well.

He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, York Street, Hanover. Bill also was a member of the Mall Walkers of Hanover, the Post Polio Organization, the McSherrystown Home Association and the Windy Hill Senior Center of Spring Grove, PA. In his free time, Bill enjoyed camping, traveling and antique cars.

In addition to his wife Barbara, Bill is survived by his children, Deena L. Haines and her husband Raymond of Finksburg, MD, Scott W. Trone and his wife Jodi of Hanover, PA, Jeffrey L. Trone and his wife Janet of Thomasville, PA; two grandchildren, Stephanie Slenker and her husband Dustin, Kimberly Whitney; two step-granddaughters, Jaci and Allysa Wendel; five great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Alexander, Riley, Damien and Morgan. He was preceded in death by his brother, Donald E. Trone.

A Celebration of William's life will be held 10:00 AM Thursday, June 2, 2016 at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA with his pastor, the Rev. E. Robert Burkhart officiating.

Burial will be in Marburg Memorial Gardens, Hanover, PA. A viewing will be held from 6-8 PM Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made in Bill's memory to the VNA Hospice of Hanover and Spring Grove, 440 N. Madison Street, Hanover, PA 17331 or to the WellSpan VNA Home Care, 540 S. George Street, York, PA 17401.
