David Own Tanner, 65, Kings Regional Rehab Centre, Waterville, formerly of Stonehurst, passed away Monday, March 26, 2007, in the centre. Born in Stonehurst, he was a son of the late Wallace and Calpurnia (Whynacht) Tanner. David started fishing at an early age and fished until illness prevented him from going to sea. He resided in Kings Rehab Centre, Waterville, where he spent many happy years with the staff and residents and enjoyed dancing. He is survived by sisters, Edith (Hilton) Croft, First South; Jean Mosher, First Peninsula; Kathleen (Melbourne) Langille, Lunenburg; brother, Darryll (Christine), Stonehurst; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sister, Arlene Zinck and brother, Howard "Buddie." Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, Lunenburg, with visitation Thursday from 7-9 p.m. A funeral service to celebrate David's life will be held Friday at 1 p.m. in St. Paul's United Church, Blue Rocks, Rev. Ruth Brown officiating. Interment will be in Lower Blue Rocks Cemetery, Blue Rocks. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Lower Blue Rocks Cemetery, St. Paul's United Church or a charity of your choice.
