RICHMOND, Ind. – Robert Edward ‘Bob’ Jones, age 85, of Richmond, died Monday, May 30, 2016, at Reid Health. Born November 17, 1930, in Richmond, Indiana, to Clinton Robert and Hazel Mae Hardwick Jones, Robert was a life-long resident of Richmond. He served in the United States Army. Robert retired from Premdor in 1996. He formerly was a sheet metal worker for Johnson Sheet Metal and had also worked at Crosley Motors and Moto-Mower. Robert was a member of the Franklin County Antique Machinery Club. He was a talented artist and enjoyed woodworking, working on and remodeling antique cars and tractors, and building model cars. Robert loved spending time with his family and friends. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Juanita Rankin Jones, to whom he was married on September 21, 1951; daughters, Vickie (James) Austin of Richmond and Becky Jones of Richmond; grandchildren, Joshua (Kristy Cummins) Austin and Rachel (Nicholas) Throop; great-grandchildren, Audrey and Julian Austin; nieces; nephews; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Joan Helmsing. Visitation for Robert Edward ‘Bob’ Jones will be from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 2, 2016, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 3, 2016, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by the Wayne County Honor Guard.
