Larry Allen Orr, age 69, of Marion, Kentucky, died after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was a Certified Public Accountant, receiving his Bachelor's Degree in Accounting with a minor in Economics from Murray State University in 1968. He served in the United States Army from 1968-1970 serving in Vietnam. He received his Masters of Business Administration from Murray State University in 1972. He served his community as a Certified Public Accountant for over 40 years and was a long time Member of the Kentucky Society of Public Accountants.

He was a lifelong member of Marion Baptist Church. He was also involved in several community organizations. He was a long time member of the Crittenden County Chamber of Commerce. He received the "President's Award for Outstanding Service" for 1983-1984, served as Chamber President 1996-1997, and received the "Unsung Hero Award" in 1989. He was a member of the Crittenden County Lion's Club, having served as President from 1987-1988. He also served as a Little League Football Coach and Middle School Football Coach. He worked as a radio announcer/sports commentator for the Crittenden County Rocket Football Team on WMJL from 1997-2006. He was a founding member of the Crittenden County Economic Development Commission and served on its Board of Directors. He founded PrayerGate, Inc. in 2011, an intercessory prayer organization for chronically and terminally ill individuals, and served as a Board member until his death. He was a avid outdoorsman, hunter and fisherman.

Larry Orr is survived by his wife of 47 years, Phyllis Cunningham Orr; a daughter, Ginger Orr (Bradley) Boone, Marion, KY; a son, Jordan Orr, Marion, KY; a granddaughter, Lacey Boon, Marion, KY.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George D. and Ruth M. Orr.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, June 3, 2016 at 10 am at Marion Baptist Church. Friends may call at the church on Friday beginning at 9 am. Visitation at Myers Funeral Home will be Thursday June 2, 2016 from 5-8 pm. Burial with military rites will follow at Mapleview Cemetery after the funeral service.
