Ken Jones
Erma Mae Pippin was born to Francis Marion and Rebecca Nevada Miller Pippin on February 15, 1908 in Hill, Texas. Erma was the oldest of seven children and her siblings were Alma L., William D., Carl E., Lois Pauline, Willard Dowl, and Eugene M., Pippin. Ermas parents were farmers and very poor.
Erma married first, Anton Albrecht/Anthony Albright and together they had a son, Harold Edward Albright. The first marriage did not last long and she married second, Haywood Taylor Waters, to whom she was married for 60 years. They had no children together but raised Harry, Erma's only child and Bonnielyn, Haywood's only child and Pat, the boy Haywood's exwife had and couldn't take care of.
Erma was a long time member of Ayres Street Church of Christ, in Corpus Christi. Erma and Haywood owned and ran Waters Grocery Store, in Corpus Christi and owned and opperated Apt/Hotel on North Beach in Corpus Christi, Texas. Later in life, Haywood wanted to retire to Grandbury, Texas, were he died and is buried.
After Haywood passed away, some years later, Erma moved to College Station, Texas to live next door to her son, Harold Albright. She was a faithful member of the Church of Christ until she could no longer go due to health problems. She was loved and adored by her family.
On January 12, 1991, after a fall and brief hospital stay, Erma passed away. Her family deeply misses her.
