Services for Jeannette Jemison, 100, Davis, were held Wednesday, June 18 at 2:00 p.m. at the Fox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Emery Mason officiating. Interment was at Oaklawn Cemetery, Sulphur, under the direction of Fox Funeral Home. She was born April 17, 1903 in Marksville, La. to Henry and Isabella (Foremier) Bordelon. She died June 15, 2003 at Burford Manor in Davis. Mrs. Jemison married S. P. Jemison on December 14, 1923 in Marksville, La. He preceded her in death on April 15, 1969. Mrs. Jemison grew up in Marksville and moved to Oklahoma in 1925. She lived in this area many years, moving here from northern Oklahoma. She was a housewife and a Methodist by faith. She is survived by one daughter, Jean Phillips, Sulphur; one son, Bud Jemison, Enid; two sisters, Eva Couvillon and Mary Gardiner, both of Marksville, La; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren. Also preceding her in death were her parents, one brother and one grandchild. Pallbearers were Larry Vaughn Bushnell, Ronnie and Chase Pierce, Darryl Carter, Johnny Shores and Preston Evans.
