Visitation will be 6-8pm Friday, June 3, 2016 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Services will be 2pm Saturday, June 4, 2016 at Siwell Road Church of Christ with visitation one hour prior to service time at the church. Interment will follow at Lakewood South.
Mr. Holcomb was born in Belgreen, AL to the late Robert Riley Holcomb, Sr. and Florence Hester Holcomb. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy and senior buyer for Eaton Corporation for 31 years where he was known as “Mr. Wonderful”. He was a member of Siwell Road Church of Christ where he served as an Elder and song leader. Mr. Holcomb was an avid quail hunter and gardener.
Survivors include his wife Miriam Holcomb of Jackson; children, David Holcomb (Marianne) of Destin, FL, Julie McFarland (Rusty) of Friendswood, TX, DeWayne Holcomb (Madeline) of Cedar Park, TX and Kendra Smiley (Eric) of Florence, MS; 16 grandchildren and one great grandchild; brother, Tom Holcomb (Judy) of Tucker, GA; sisters, Charlene North of Winter Garden, FL and Barbara Tork of Ft. Worth, TX.
