Mrs. Gustave Cherney, 75, a resident of the village of Mishicot 47 years, died
at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, at 7:30 p.m. Saturday after a lingering
illness.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Specht Funeral Home, Mishicot,
and at 10 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, the Rev. George Beth officiating.
Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery Mishicot.
Mrs. Cherney, nee Margaret Brouchoud, was born in the Town of Gibson Aug. 2,
1882, daughter of the late Eugene and Mary Couthon Brouchoud. She was married
April 2, 1907, to Gustave Cherney at Mishicot. The couple settled on a farm at
Fisherville after marriage and moved to Mishicot 47 years ago where she resided
since. She was a member of the Altar Society of Holy Cross Church.
Besides her husband she leaves three daughters, Mrs. Nicholas Stahl of Rt. 2,
Cato, and Mrs. John Tuschl Jr., and Mrs. Urban Brenner of Rt. 4, Manitowoc; a
son, Lloyd of Rt. 4, Manitowoc; two sisters, Mrs. Herman Pries of Oconto Falls
and Mrs. Emil Cherney of Manitowoc; two brothers, Peter of Mishicot and Richard
Brouchoud of Manitowoc; 24 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Friends may call at the funeral home where the Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m.
Monday.
