Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. today in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Monroe for Jesse Burton [sic Barton] Oliver, 81, of Rt. 1, Monroe, who died Tuesday after a long illness.

Services were conducted by the Rev. Lea Joyner with burial following in the Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Oliver is survived by four sons, W. C. Oliver, J. B. Oliver, James C. Oliver and Mayborn Oliver, all of Monroe; one brother, Chester Oliver, Houston; one sister, Mrs. Fannie Triest, Kansas; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Russell Price, Johnny Lee Tharp, Cleo Moore, Armand Miller, Arthur Finley and Ray Fletcher.
