A Mass of Christian Burial was held January 15 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pierz with Father Ken Brenny and Father Charles Padatruruthy concelebrating. Burial was in the parish cemetery.
Herman was born October 22, 1926, in Buh Township, MN, where he lived and farmed all his life. He was united in marriage with Esther Suess on June 8, 1948, in Buckman, MN. Herman was employed with the railroad for a few years prior to working for Gottwalt Lumber Company for 10 years along with farming. He retired from farming in 1980. Herman enjoyed fishing, gardening and playing cards.
Survivors include his wife, Esther of Pierz; a son, Ernie Poser and wife Trudy of Buckman; daughters, Iris Kowalzek and husband Larry of Pierz; Beverly Sadlovsky and husband Gary of Newport, MN, Donna Herald and husband Bob of Buckman and Janice Henagin and husband Sidney of Pierz; brothers, Edmund, Urban and Leonard, all of Pierz and Benedict and Arnold, both of West Allis, WI; sisters, Alma Littlefield of Iowa and Adeline Przybilla of West Allis, WI; 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Theresia Zierer (Stuckmayer); infant daughter; brothers, Raymond and Felix and sisters, Theresia, Barbara and Irene.
Honorary casketbearers were Irving Sauer, Victor Hoffman, Daryl Brinks, Reinie Jutz, Roger Haney and Donny Bleichner.
Casketbearers were Jeff Suess, Bruce Poser, Sid Henagin, Sev Poser, Jason Sadlovsky and John Schmidtbauer.
