Gary Dean Word entered into eternal rest on October 20, 2006, after a long illness. Gary was born in Lindsay, Oklahoma on September 22, 1933. He was the son of Carl Perry Word and Audrey Belle Pryon Word. He has lived in Chickasha since 1968. Gary's favorite pastime was watching the OU games and his love of antique cars. Gary supported his family by working in the oilfields. He worked in the Alaskan Islands and spent four years in the U. S. Army.
Gary is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by two daughters, Terry Laws of Chickasha, Oklahoma, and Pamela Maple of Chickasha, Oklahoma, three brothers; Bobby Word of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Perry Word of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Roger Word of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He is also survived by one sister, Charlene Sutton of Topeka, Kansas. Gary leaves behind his five beloved grandchildren; Rocky Word of Chickasha, April Hull of Chickasha, Jennifer Campbell of Amarillo, Texas, Felicia Riddle of Ft. Smith, Arkansas and Cody Riddle of Van Buren, Arkansas.
