Daughter of Gregorio Maldonado-Bazan & Juana Barrera-Cadena of Agualeguas, N.L., Juanita married Sabino Perez-Flores in Agualeguas in 1892. Together they had five boys and two girls in Agualeguas and Monterrey, where they lived for a short time at the turn of the century. Sabino and Juanita brought their family to Texas in 1918 after the Revolution made jobs scarce in Nuevo Leon. The family settled and remained in San Antonio, living mostly on Henry Street on the West Side near the Basilica of the Little Flower, where they attended services. Sabino died in 1938; Juanita not until 1952. They are buried together in San Fernando Cemetery #2 near many of their children and grandchildren.
