Olive D. Gustafson, 79, of Sandwich, formerly of Sycamore, died Thursday, Feb. 21, 1985 at Sandwich Community Hospital.

She was born Oct. 9, 1905, in Avery, Ohio, the daughter of Henry and Gertrude (Hanson) Mefferd. She married Leonard Gustafson.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Sycamore, and a professional organ player for 60 years, and played in a professional dance band for 30 years.

Survivors include one son, Leonard Gustafson of Sandwich; one daughter, Ann G. Jackson of Geneva; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, and one brother, Paul Mefferd.

Funeral service will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Sycamore with the Rev. C. Alfred Patten officiating. Burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery in Sycamore.

Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. today at the Van Natta Funeral Home.
