James Alexander Macfie, son-in-law of Col. C. W. Durham, died at Water town this morning, of paresis. Had he lived until Dec. 16 he would have been 40 years of age. He is survived by his wife and one brother, William T. Macfie, of Clarenceville, Quebec, Canada.
The funeral will be from Col. Durham's residence at 10 a. m., tomorrow and will be private.
Mr. Macfie was a civil engineer and for many years employed by the government office at this city. He had many friends who will mourn his loss.
