He joined Savage Arms in Sharon, Pa, in 1916. He also served 10 years as treasurer of the Standard Tank Car Co. in Masury, Ohio. He came to Utica as treasurer of Savage Arms in 1926. He was elected Vice president in 1940, and to the board of directors later that year. He retired in 1946.
