Carol Chamberlin Cornell, a lifelong resident of Twinsburg. She was the daughter of Glenn E. and Margaret G. Chamberlin. Both Glenn Chamberlin and his father R. B. Chamberlin were prominent physicians in Twinsburg. Carol carried on the family tradition of working in the medical field, graduating from Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing, Western Reserve University, in 1963. Nearly her entire career was spent at Bedford Hospital, starting in obstetrics and then moving to the emergency room, which she loved and eventually headed. Carol became assistant director of nursing at Bedford and received her master's degree in nursing from Kent State University in 1981.

A stroke forced Carol's retirement from nursing in 1985. She subsequently busied herself with her many favorite activities: traveling, knitting with the Knit-Witters, supporting the Twinsburg Historical Society, playing bridge, listening to books and classical music, visiting her children and grandchildren, and following every move of her beloved Cleveland Indians. She was a kind and gentle soul who was loved by all who knew her.
