Ironton Woman Succumbs to
Childbirth Complications
A death of unusual sadness occurred
here Sunday morning when Mrs. L.
J. Butler passed away at her home
at 4:20 o'clock. Death followed a
month's siege of illness caused by
complications following childbirth.
While all hope was abandoned at
times during her illness, during the
last ten days her condition was more
encouraging and hope was held out
for her recovery but Saturday pleur-
isy developed and the end came quick-
ly. Mrs. Butler is survived by her
husband and six children, Robert, Lois,
Eugene, Ellen, Hazel and an infant
son, Levi Glen, her father residing at
Meadowlands, Minn., two sisters liv-
ing in Virginia, Minn., and two bro-
thers of Chicago.
Mr. and Mrs. Butler and family
moved here two years ago this fall
from Virginia, Minn. and have made
their home at the Ironton, Mr. Butler
being in the engineering department
of the McKinney Steel Co. During
her short residence here Mrs. Butler
made many friends by her sweet un-
assuming manner and she was es-
pecially admired for her fine qualities
as a mother.
The funeral arrangements were
incomplete this morning pending the
arrival of relatives but will be an-
nounced later.
