E. Dale Owens, age 69 of Osgood, Indiana, with family by his side passed away peacefully early Tuesday afternoon, April 19, 2016 at the Manderley Health Care Center. He was the beloved son of the late James W. Owens & Wymena A. VanVolkenburg Owens who still survives.
He was born November 9, 1946 at Batesville, Indiana. Dale had been a very dedicated and hard worker for Hillenbrand Industries of Batesville, Indiana for 42 years. Many people in Osgood and the surrounding area will remember Dale and his father repairing their TV's. His children fondly remember the times they shared with their dad go-kart racing. Enjoying flea markets, along with buying cars and working on them, had been some favorite pastimes.
Survivors include his mother, Wymena Owens of Westport, Indiana; sons, Dale Wayne Owens of Clarksburg, Indiana, Timothy (Dori) Owens of Memphis, Tennessee, Gregory Owens of Osgood, Indiana and Bryan (Tess) Owens of Lebanon, Ohio; daughters, Kimberly (Sabrena) Fields of Lexington, Kentucky, Tonya Colley of Osgood,Indiana, Jennifer Cox of Osgood and Cathy Owens of Greensburg, Indiana; sisters, Patty (Larry) Grow of Napoleon, Indiana, Connie (Mike) Leake of Greensburg, Indiana and Linda Green of Napoleon, Indiana; brothers, Dean (Pam) Owens and Rob (Kelly) Owens, both of Westport, Indiana; many grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol White Owens; his father, Jim Owens; 1 daughter, Kelly Jo Owens; and 1 brother, Leon Owens.
