Father Harry W Ringenberger, III, 73, passed away May 23, after a recent illness. Fr. Ringenberger was born in Indianapolis, IN, and relocated to Fort Lauderdale, FL. with his family in 1957.
The son of Harry W, II and Florence Weingardt Ringenberger, Fr Bud (as known by his family and friends) attended St. John Vianney College Seminary in Miami and completed his studies for the priesthood at St Vincent de Paul Regional Seminary in Boynton Beach, FL. He was ordained on May 24, 1969.
During his 47 year religious career within the Miami FL Archdiocese, Fr Ringenberger served as parochial vicar for: St. Clement Church, Fort Lauderdale; St Mary Cathedral, Miami; Our Lady of the Lakes, Miami Lakes; St. Catherine of Siena, Miami, and St Bartholomew Parish, Miramar. He served on the faculty of Archbishop Curley High School and Principal of Msgr. Edward Pace High School in Miami Gardens. Father Ringenberger was named the founding pastor of St. Maximilian Kolbe Church in Pembroke Pines and for the past 24 years served as parochial vicar of St. Pius X Church in Fort Lauderdale, FL., retiring from regular duty in in 2014.
Preceded in death by his parents and brother, John Ringenberger, of Fort Lauderdale, Father Ringenberger is survived by his sisters, Dr. Barbara Ringenberger ; Teresa (Patrick) Connolly; his brother, Paul (Era) Ringenberger and his beloved nephew, Danny Connolly, all of Florida.
A Mass for Christian burial was celebrated by Auxiliary Bishop Peter Baldacchino on Friday, May, 27th at St. Pius X Church, Fort Lauderdale, and his cremated remains interred at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Cemetery, North Fort Lauderdale.
