OBITUARY

Thursday, February 19, 1903
FATAL ACCIDENT
While hauling a load of straw, Mr. Sam Halferty, for many years a resident of Liberty township and a well known character in this part of the county, met his death last Tuesday.
The deceased fell off the load head first in such a way that his neck was almost broken. When picked up Mr. Halferty was insensible and never regained consciousness.
Funeral services were held today, followed by interment in the Chariton cemetery.
