Florence Maxine (Max) Fleck Krebs November 4, 1922 June 4, 2016 Florence Maxine (Max) Fleck Krebs, 93, of State College, died Saturday, June 4, 2016, at the Hearthside Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, State College. Born November 4, 1922, in Bellefonte, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Eckenroth Fleck. On August 10, 1946, she married her former husband, Donald Krebs, who preceded her in death. Max retired from Penn State University in the Property Inventory Department in 1985. Max was dedicated to and respected by her family. She was a gentle and caring person who above all loved her children and grandchildren. She always saw the best in everyone. She will be missed enormously by her family who were blessed to have had her in their lives. She enjoyed Penn State football, playing cards, and spending time with her family and friends. Some of her most memorable times were at the beach with her family. She also enjoyed going on the bus trips with the 55 +ers of Grace Lutheran Church. She is survived by one daughter, Sandy Cassady and her husband, Harold, of Pennsylvania Furnace; one son, Curt Krebs, of State College; one brother, James and his wife, Pat, of Virginia; two sisters, Louise Brown-Mundy, of Bellefonte and Joann Morrice and her husband, Robert, of Severna Park, Md.; a brother-in-law, Donald Holderman, of Bellefonte; three granddaughters, Ella Krebs, of San Francisco, Calif., Leila Krebs, of State College and Christy Cassady, of Virginia; one grandson, Jason Cassady and his wife, Beth, of San Antonia, Texas; nine nephews; and five nieces. In addition to her parents and former husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Neil Krebs; two brothers, William Fleck and infant brother Robert Fleck; and one sister, Phyllis Holderman. Max was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church of State College. Friends will be received from 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 11, 2016, at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St., State College. Funeral service will follow at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Schul officiating. Interment will be at Centre County Memorial Park, State College. Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Lutheran Church, 205 S. Garner St., State College, PA 16801 or to a charity of the donor's choice.
