A service station attendant for many years, he had worked for Texas and Northern Warehouse, and was a Baptist. Mr. Abernathy is survived by his mother, Carolyn Abernathy of Hughes Springs; one brother, J.P. Abernathy of Jefferson; two sisters, Debbie Abernathy and Penny Kaye Abernathy, both of Marshall; other relatives and friends.
