Charles R Bankert, 69, of 56 Crouse Park, Littlestown, died at the Warner Hospital Sunday morning at 8:45, following an illness of several weeks.
He was born in Taneytown, Carroll County, Md., a son of the late Monroe S and Clara Rosie Forney Bankert and was a retired butcher.
He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Fairfield, and had resided in Littlestown since July, 1968.
Surviving are his widow, Catherine Crouse Bankert; two sons, Charles L Bankert, and Larry W Bankert, both of Littlestown; four sisters; Mrs. Mary Cookson, Mrs. Mabel Newman, Mrs. Kittie Collins, all of Littlestown and Mrs. Hazel Dellinger, Shrewsbury.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 from the Wilson Funeral Home, Fairfield, with his pastor, Rev. David Hunsberger officiating. Interment will be in the Fairfield Union Cemetery.
