Charles Dewey "Charlie" Bailey was the son of Lee Morgan and Myrtle May Rhodes Bailey. He was a great, great grandson of the first of our Bailey family to settle in Lawrence Co., Tennessee: Booker and Jane Nelson Bailey.
Jane Nelson Bailey's Nelson family were also members of those first family groups of settlers to come into this area of Tennessee.
Charlie died at the Lawrence County Hospital as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident that occured in the early evening of Christmas Eve. He was a retired farmer and had never married.
