Susan was baptised at St Gluvias, near Penryn, Cornwall, ENG, one of 10 or more children born to James Kemp & Julianna née Bishop.
The family with their 6 surviving children, 3 sons & 3 daughters, emigrated to Brisbane, arriving from London on "Gauntlet" on 20 February 1878. (Another brother was born in QLD, but he died in infancy.)

Occupation pre-1886: Dressmaker
She married first John Frederick Gee on 23 June 1886, at All Saints Anglican Church, Brisbane, QLD.
The couple had 4 children: Norman Leslie, John Cecil, Roy Bromley (died as infant) and Dorothy Evelyn Gee.

Widowed in 1900, she married second William Horatio Lingard-Wells on 16 December 1902 in Brisbane, QLD. They moved to Sydney & had a son Horace Vincent ("Skip") Lingard-Wells in 1903.
They resided in Walgett, NSW, in the early 1930s, but returned to Sydney by the late 1930s until her death.

Susan thus had 5 children, and more than a dozen grandchildren. She was fondly remembered by her family, with a few namesakes among her descendants.
