Mamie Louise Abercrombie, 96, of Chattanooga, TN, went to be with her Lord Sunday, May 1, 2016 at home with her family. She was born to the late John and Ora Collins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Abercrombie; son, Julian Abercrombie; sister, Evelyn Lawson; brother, Chuck Collins; grandson, James Stanfield II; great grandson, Zachary Bryant.
She is survived by three sons, France Abercrombie, of California, James Abercrombie, of Chattanooga, TN, and Steven (Kim) Abercrombie, of Mississippi; five daughters, Shirley Stanfield, of Chattanooga, TN, Dinah (Bill) Johnson, of Georgia, Janet (Mike) Slatton, of Red Bank, TN, Cathy (Carlton) Haire, of Tiftonia, TN, and Renee (James) Wetherbee, of North Carolina; numerous grandchildren; and great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and many friends.
Pastor Steve Abercrombie will conduct the funeral service Thursday, in the funeral home chapel at noon.
Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
The body will lie in state Wednesday, from 3-7 p.m.
