Mrs. Joyce Lyle was born on October, 21, 1931 to her parents Fred Washington “Papa” and Hannah Leona “Kennedy” Gray in Cohay Camp of Smith County. Joyce loved taking care of all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were her life and she loved them all. She loved eating Wednesday lunch with the minister and enjoyed her Pioneer Sunday School immensely. She also loved her friends and family very much. Joyce and her husband Carlton lived in Morton for over forty years before she moved to Brandon.
Joyce is preceded in death by her parents Fred and Hannah Gray; her husband John Carlton; five sisters and two brothers.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Lyle (Larry-deceased) Creel of Brandon, MS; her sons, Tommy Gray (Elizabeth) Lyle of Jackson, MS and Bob (Dana) Lyle of Pearl, MS; her grandchildren, Amy Creel, Adam Creel, Karen Lyle, Marion Lyle Morrison, Allen Lyle, Courtney Lyle Sanders and Erin Lyle Alford; her great-grandchildren, Lyle Sanders, Liam Alford and Samuel Bisschop.
