Edith I. Hawkins, 99 of Versailles, Ohio and formerly of Greenville, Ohio passed away on Saturday June 11, 2016 at 7:20 AM at the Versailles Health Care Center, Versailles, Ohio.

She was born September 14, 1916 in Darke County, Ohio the daughter of the late Roy & Anna (Cable) Anthony.

She was a Home Health Aide and worked for 12 ½ years for the Darke County Health Department and 7 years at Family Health.

She was a member of First Assembly of God Church; and Ithaca Open Bible Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Virgil C. Hawkins whom she married August 16, 1940; son: Keith Hawkins, step son: Raymond Hawkins; sisters: Irene Magoteaux, Helen Crawford, Lois Butts, Thelma Goodpastor; brothers: Harold, Lester, Lloyd, Bill, & Dale Anthony.

She is survived by her sons & daughters in law: Tom & Karol Hawkins of Ansonia, Lowell & Agnes Hawkins of Versailles, Virgil Gene & Michelle Hawkins of Wilmington, Ohio; grandchildren: Rebecca Blanton, Mike & Christi Hawkins, Travis & Angie Gambrel; step grandchildren: Andrew & Susan Benanzer, Aaron & Kelle Benanzer; great grandchildren: Joshiwa Hawkins, Brittany Richard, Sara Williams, Tiffany Richard, Makayla Hawkins, Dawson, Hagan, & Adalynne Gambrel; step great grandchildren: Noelle, Drew, Easton, & Arya Benanzer; 6 great great grandchildren; sisters: Roma Stump, & Wilma Reck; special friend: Sandy Gunckle; numerous nieces & nephews.

Services will be held on Thursday June 16, 2016 at 11:00 AM at First Assembly of God 7219 State Route 118, Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Dale Boeger officiating.

Burial will follow in Nashville Cemetery.

Family will receive friends from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Thursday at the church.

Arrangements are being handled by Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio.

Memorial contributions may be made to State of the Heart Hospice.
