Robert “Bob” Campbell was born February 15, 1933 the son of Samuel and Florence (Stone) Campbell in Cloquet. After high school Bob served in the U.S. Navy. On June 16, 1956 Robert married former spouse MaryAnn "Toby" Tupy. Bob was a dedicated family man who raised 4 children and enriched the lives of many foster children. He worked in management at Control Data for over 30 years.
Bob enjoyed coaching and participating in various sports throughout his lifetime including, 5k running events, Marathons, Boxing, Softball, Handball, Racquetball, and Golf. He boxed in the Navy, and won two consecutive golden glove championships. He was an outdoor enthusiast who enjoyed wildlife, nature and hunting and shared this enthusiasm with 3 generations of children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Bob is survived by daughters, Kathleen (and Douglas) Hoverkamp of Owatonna, Kelly (and Chris Hames) Campbell of Owatonna, Teresa “Tracy” (and Robert)Beauchamp of East Rochester, NY; son, Jim(and Barb) Weir of Cottage Grove; 12 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; mother of his children, MaryAnn (Tupy) Campbell of Shakopee.
He was preceded in death by his son, Robert Campbell; brother, Eugene Campbell; sister, Ione Campbell.
Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Saturday from 10am to 11am. Memorial services will be held Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 11am at Michaelson Funeral Home with The Reverend Edward McGrath officiating. Interment will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Cloquet.
