Bluefield, WV- Dorothy Mae Hoge Beckett, 68, of Bluefield, WV, died Friday June 10, 2016 in Roanoke, VA.
Born January 20, 1948 in Itmann, WV, she was a daughter of the late Russell Edward Hoge, Sr. and Dorothy Mae Smith Hoge. Mrs. Beckett was a devout Christian. She retired as a receptionist from Dr. Bruce Lasker’s practice. Mrs. Beckett loved her family. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, and grandmother. She also enjoyed gardening.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Steven Eugene Atkins, and granddaughter, Caidence Beckett.
Survivors include her husband, Howard W. Beckett, Jr.; children, Karen Beckett of Bluefield, VA, Rhonda Maney of Bluefield, VA, and Howard W. “Buddy” Beckett, III and wife Cassandra of Lenoir, NC; sister, Virginia Williams and husband Posey of Belmont, NC; brothers, Eddie Hoge and wife Mabel of Sophia, WV, and John Hoge of Bluefield, WV; grandchildren, Kevin Hanna, Jr., Chelsea Jenkins, Kyle Hanna, Timothy Maney, Miles Maney, Josh Beckett, Taylor Bates, Sierra Beckett, and Brennan Beckett; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Mercer Funeral Home on Tuesday June 14, 2016 from 1:00-2:00 p.m.
A graveside service will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Danny Scott officiating.
