Born: Tue., Jul. 10, 1945
Died: Mon., Jun. 13, 2016
On Monday, June 13, 2016, after a short battle with lung cancer, Tyler Boswell Sr., 70, passed peacefully, surrounded by love, in the home he built. Tyler was born July 10, 1945 in Omak, Washington, the son of Al and Louella Cahill Boswell.
After serving in the United States Navy, Tyler returned to Montana, and worked in the woods all over Lincoln County hauling logs. Some might remember that Dirty Harry quote, “Go ahead make my day!” that he had painted on his bug shield, following an incident that landed his logging truck in the ditch. After raising his children in Troy, Tyler spent several years on the Seattle coast working and retiring as a carpenter. Stories are often told of his wild younger days of boxing, fast cars and dance moves that would clear the dance floor for him and his partner.
Tyler, a longtime resident of Troy, Montana, is survived by his siblings; older brother Clarence Thompson; younger brother Mark and wife Tammy Boswell; children Brenda Boswell; TJ and his wife Nicole Boswell; grandchildren Taylor, Allie and Malia.
A graveside service will take place at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 18, at Milnor Lake Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Boswell family home, at 104 Kootenai Drive, Troy, Montana. Arrangements are by Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home in Libby. Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.schnackenbergfh.com.
